Aisleyne and her thongs are mentioned in the poem, "I Live!", by Paul Stevens in The New Formalist (Volume VII, Number 1)...

It's the poem directly after "The Cellar".

A worthy successor to William McGonagall is Mr Stevens, is he not?

BTW I was sure that "Aisleyne formalist" would be a googlewhack - but it isn't!

I disagree, any poet who writes about thongs can't be all that bad. Surely, you must appreciate the subtle genius of the great poet Sisqo in his memorable verse, "The Thong Song"?

Not bad enough (in my humble opinion) for the genius status that McGonagall is supposed to have earned. Great to hear of Aisleyne's advance into the realm of high culture. Aisleyne was a rose amongst thorns in the house and she stands out here amongst dubious company in that so called "poem".
