Aisleyne is taking part in My Story, a major new BBC One series airing in 2010.

My Story will gather the Nation's true stories and publish them online on the My Story website. All stories will be entered into the My Story competition. The fifteen best stories will be made into mini televison dramas, and the five best ones will get publishing deals with their stories turned into books.

The series will bring together many parts of the BBC to entertain and inspire. Things kick off this Autumn with the BBC My Story Roadshows. These are being held in 6 locations around the country, with familiar faces telling their own remarkable stories. In addition to being recorded for BBC One, each regional roadshow will also be covered by local BBC TV and Radio News.

On 3rd October, Aisleyne will be in Middlesbrough where the Roadshow will be held at the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art in Central Square (http://www.visitmima.com/).

The special My Story website (www.bbc.co.uk/mystory) will feature Videos with well known people telling their own true life stories. The site is now online and features an introduction by the One Show's Christine Bleakley. What are the odds that a very familiar face may appear on the site before too long?!

A free BBC My Story magazine filled with inspiring real-life stories, top tips and advice on how to write your own story will be available to pick up from libraries, order from the My Story website or via the BBC phone-line: 0800 0150 950.

We'll update you with further news as received.

Fabulous stuff!

What an EXCELLENT project, and such an appropriate one for Aisleyne to be involved in!

As mentioned previously, Aisleyne will be appearing at the next "My Story" Roadshow in Middlesbrough this Saturday 3rd October.

She will be recording a number of interviews etc for TV and radio during the day. However anyone intending to go to see her should make a point of being there for noon, which is when Aisleyne's main interview on stage in front of the audience is scheduled to take place.

If you go to

http://www.bbc.co.uk/mystory/

and click on Roadshows you'll see a video of the Peckham roadshow the other Saturday, with comments by Nina Wadia, Konnie Huq, Ade Adepitan etc. Presumably the other roadshows will be shown likewise.

There is also a notice about this Saturday, with a mention of Aisleyne. It seems that as well as Ash, Peter Duncan and Denise Robertson which we knew about previously, Lorraine Tighe of Apprentice fame will also be there.

The BBC's Tees local website now has a feature about the roadshow, though strangely it doesn't mention Aisleyne or the other celebs who are attending.

BBC Tees has mentioned the event in their local news. Not sure if there'll be any interviews though

Brief summary of on-spot report by Georgina of BBC Tees:

"Aisleyne is really nice, lovely. She's written her autobiography. She said she was really bad at spelling and grammar, but writing her book was therapeutic. Gave good advice. She's still on stage."

Eleven months later, the programmes with the winning stories have finally started to be shown.

First one's on BBC1 now.
