Aisleyne will be on The Culture Show on BBC2 on the 1st July at 10pm and repeated on Thursday 3rd July at 23.20. "Celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of George Orwell's 1984, we form a book group consisting entirely of ex Big Brother contestants to discuss the work, chaired by literary critic and ex Celebrity Big Brother housemate Germaine Greer. The panellists, including 'nasty' Nick Bateman, ex-Tory candidate Derek Laud and Aisleyne Horgan Wallace, discuss the parallels between the Orwellian nightmare and their own experiences in the house."

This is the TV program that Aisleyne recorded on Thursday as rumoured in the gossip thread.

WOW! A feminist icon.....

AND Germaine Greer as well!

What an utterly fascinating concept for a discussion, and as well as Aisleyne's participation what a cracking line-up!

Will Ash be on Room 101 next?

That sounds like it'll be very interesting, and I'm sure Ash will hold her own nicely in that company.

Hope you read the book first Ash?

I thought a BBC programme would not be BB related, but I'm still really pleased with this news. Top marks to the BBC for their selection of housemates wth more than one brain cell.

Aisleyne discussing George Orwell on BBC2's Culture Show with Germaine Greer, eh?

This surely confirms that Aisleyne IS indeed the 21st Century version of the Thinking Man's Crumpet.

From what I recall, there doesn't seem to be any favouritism shown by Orwell's Big Brother.

Hopefully they have not tried to cram too much stuff into 30 mins and they have enough time to do the subject justice.

Anyone watching this week's edition? I thought for a millisecond or two that Aisleyne already on it with Mark Kermode, but it was actually Lauren Laverne looking rather, erm, Aisleyne-ish!

Lauren Laverne says can we have a new house and put these people in, they are much more interesting.  No argument here.  Did Pete say anything apart from *cough*

Excellent debate with a wide range of points raised. Aisleyne came over extremely well. She demonstrated good knowledge of the novel and raised some good points. She identified Orwellian cultural elements in the amount of surveillance cameras in daily life.

Very interesting little segment. I thought it deserved longer though. Maybe we'll get some more stuff in the extended uncut version?

I wonder why Pete was asked on?

Sounds really interesting.

To my eternal shame I completely forgot it was on tonight.
I'll have to try to catch it on Thursday.

I've never had a problem with surveillance cameras, personally, but Aisleyne definitely held her own in the discussion

I just watched it on iPlayer  and she did come across briliantly.

Unfortunately my internet connection is on a go slow at the moment, so the streaming kept buffering, so I think I'll still try to catch it tomorrow.
