A cheery Charlie Brooker (I know, slightly astonished writing those words together ;-)) was plugging Aisleyne's book on Twitter about 30 minutes ago, as well as suggesting a name for someone's female cat (he suggested 'Aisleyne'.

She must have favoured him with a few Meows.

He's not such a bad lad, that Brooker.

Just finished the book.

I see what you mean by a shock near the end. :(

But all in all, a bloody good read, and very illuminating.
Must admit, I had a lump in me throat more than once.

I've now finished the book.

It was in a word thrilling...... full of blow by blow accounts. Definitely deserves 5 stars.

It's a shame that people who are cynical about her may not pick it up.

I actually cried when I read losing mum, I could Identify with that.

I do understand her more and I am glad that I empathized with her on BB7. Though I am not into the glamour stuff because I think she is worth so more I sincerely wish her well.

I get the impression that there are more people in the media who want to take her seriously, I hope this opportunity doesn't slip away completely....

You may well remember Cameron Stout, the winner of BB4. Among his various talents he writes a weekly column in the Aberdeen Evening Express. Last week he gave a brief plug to Nikki Grahame's book. I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that this week he does the same for Aisleyne's (who after all DID pick a SCOTTISH publisher!).

It's brief, but to the point - and finishes with a particularly Aberdonian recommendation . This is what he says:

"In case you’ve all rushed out and bought Nikki Grahame’s book and finished it in no time flat, I should tell you that another Big Brother autobiography was released at the same time. Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace’s 'Surviving Guns, Gangs and Glamour' tells the sorry tale of her life and, like Nikki’s, touches on some very serious issues. It too is available at approximately half price."

Thanks Cameron!

And acknowledgments to "Jezi" on Bbfans who posts up Cameron's column each week.

By a strange coincidence, TWO of the "babysitters" feature on Wenn today:

Some very positive comments from someone who's actually read the book:

Plus a nice photo taken at MOBOs 2007 I think

Interestingly enough, my latest blog entry touches upon Aisleyne's book. It's as part of an overall blog post on politics and celebrity. The post was inspired by how politicians have now got a deluded sense of their own importance, and actually behave like the very worst sort of reality TV show contestant or egotist chat show host. In contrast, a lot of supposedly derided celebrities behave with a lot more poise and political or social awareness. It's also inspired by successful celebrity-led political campaigning.

However, Aisleyne's rather upset reaction at 'anonymous' user comments on that bastion of 'common sense', The Sun (joking, obviously), definitely inspired me to be, um, angrily chivalrous? Particularly as the book has been great to read (well, so far - I haven't finished it yet!). Anyway, I try to update my blog weekly, but the "Vote for The Celebrity Party" post is still the first blog entry there.

Oh, a little game for everyone to play: there's a 'celebrity' Cabinet imagined at the end. For the most part, I think these people would be pretty good (ok, I might have put Peter Andre and Mr Motivator in to get a giggle). If Aisleyne ever became a member of the government (hey, you never know? Give it a few years?), what Cabinet position would she be most suited to?

For some reason, I suspect Bradley will probably have something to offer to all this...

I reckon nothing short of Prime Minister for Ash but, failing that, Minister for Social Services probably best reflects her kind and caring nature

I dont actually. I hate all this celebrity wanting to be politicians stuff. Cant stand it when they offer their opinions when they dont have a clue. And at the moment sick of seeing the likes of Esther Rantzen and even worse David Van Day feeling the need to offer themselves forward when they dont have a clue.

So what did you think I was going to say?

Heh heh, Bradley, you didn't disappoint.

And, yes, blog entry was written slightly tongue-in-cheek. Although Aisleyne for Social Services wouldn't be too bad ;-)

I just watched yesterday's BBLB and I was chuffed to see that my third favourite housemate of all time was taking part in the BBLB Quiz.

They asked which housemate just had a book out called 'Surviving Guns, Gangs and Glamour'. Naturally Saskia knew the answer

You're unpredictable, but always say you're predictable ..... which sort of makes you predictable .... I think.

Looks like the book has another fan in the shape of acclaimed designer Henry Holland:

Henry has now quoted Aisleyne, but I don't think this comes from the book itself?

http://twitter.com/henryholland/statuses/2873493545

Its still a brilliant quote, though!

Its a reference to her friend ringing her after she'd overdosed. It might come from Ash's interview with Attitude mag, which I've not seen yet.

Oh right, yeah, I should have thought.

I thought perhaps she was just a big fan of Nokia phones.
