It looks a pretty awful scene. How many tragedies occur so close to Christmas? As well as the pain the policeman's family must be suffering, the towns will obviously suffer further financial hardship coming up to their busiest trading period. As clever as we may think we are these days, Mother Nature has a habit of catching us out from time to time.

I was fretting like an anxious parent about Sophie, particularly as a whole Friday morning had passed and there were no tweets from her. Most unlike her ;-)

Then I got a FB connection with her - never before has an online request been so happily received!

Hey Guys and Gals

I hope you all had a wonderful xmas and I am wishing you all the best for 2010. I got a feeling its gonna be a good one.

Im off to Africa in a few hours and I cant wait! I lost my digital camera so am taking a disposable one so not sure if i will be able to show you the pics, but might have a video for you to watch.

Its my friends Mum's memorial service and we are also visiting a school and some orphanages, I have brought a ton of pens and pencils for them and am taking all my trainers for them and some clothes. I cant wait to get there eventhough I think it will be a very emotional holiday, I also think it will be enlightening. I just hope I can help the kids in some small way.

Anyway I will have a full report for you all when i get back, and watch out for my Twitter updates, I will be able to access twitter from my phone out there hopefully, but not OA

Much Love you naughty MUFFINS xxxxx

Have a great time, Aisleyne!

I'm sure you'll find the school/orphanage visits will be quite an experience!

Look forward to hearing more about it all!

Bon voyage!

Ash - this should be a great experience for you. To think people moan in this country about a bit of snow and ice - they should try surviving in droughts and floods as they get in Africa regularly. Hope to read your tweets!

Not posted here for a long time but in the lead up to the last ever series of BB, I've become quite nostalgic about housemates from the past - and Ash - you're still my favourite by a country mile!

Hope you're keeping well and busy. Have caught pics of you doing this and that on Appreciation Threads elsewhere and you continue to look quite fabulous

Warm regards,

Sid x

Like Sid, I've not posted here in a very long time, I'm actually still surprised (and very proud) that my 'Emotoinal Rollercoaster' post is still taking pride of place over on the 'fakers' page. I just re-read it and apart from cringing at the grammar it's still quite a powerful peice. That was written from the heart!!

Anyway, I will be rooting for you to become a legendary 'all star' housemate. As said in my post, you are the only Housemate who ever provoked such strong emotions...good luck!

Hi jane72, where've you been hiding? You'll see that Aisleyne's latest Diary entry contains a special personal message for you about your legendary "Emotional Rollercoaster" article.

More generally Ash also explains why she isn't able to post in the "Hi Aisleyne" thread.

Lots of other news and goss too!
