1000

I should like to apologise to everyone for the downtime over the past few days.

It would appear that someone penetrated the network of Fasthosts, where Officially Aisleyne is hosted, and gained access to all the master usernames and passwords. As a precaution, Fasthosts decided to shut down all systems and issue new master passwords to every site which it hosts. As Fasthosts claims to be the UK's largest hosting company, this affected a considerable number of sites.

Tonight we managed to obtain the new password from Fasthosts, reconfigure all systems and bring Officially Aisleyne back online.

I would like to emphasis that the intruder gained access only to the list of site master passwords. Every OA member's personal username and password is stored in an encrypted form, and wasn't compromised.

Hopefully, all systems are now running normally again.

Google has gone and indexed the site in its 'closed for maintenance' form, which probably helps explain the lack of users clicking through...

Well done to all concerned for acting swiftly. It's great to see OA back online.

The Google topspot has thankfully reverted to a live link . And the guest stream seems to be back to a healthy level as well.
