Location: Scottish Borders
My monitor is 1280 x 768 (widescreen), but I usually have the browser open as a window (approx 1024 wide), so I can watch the output from my TV card in a small window top right.

Right click on your desktop and select 'Properties'.
On the box that comes up, click the 'Settings' tab.
That will tell you what your screen resolution is set to (in pixels), among other things.

Always assuming you are using Windows XP that is.
