The Sun online are running a poll asking:

"Which ex-housemate would you like to see in the final BB series?"

They list 26 names, with all previous winners plus a selection of other "favourites" - including Aisleyne, naturally.

Whether it would be a good idea either in general, or for Ash specifically is another question altogether of course.

I wonder if this is actually going to happen. I think it would be a fitting ending to the series (for those still interested) for somebody to come up with an idea like this.

It looks as if the poll has now closed? If so, the final list of HMs polling >1% is:

Rachel Rice 29.17%
Nikki Grahame 18.51%
Brian Dowling 17.07%
Pete Bennett 10.62%
Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace 6.07%
Kate Lawler 3.52%
Nick Bateman 2.96%
Brian Belo 2.68%
Michelle Bass 2.00%
Mikey Hughes 1.82%
Jon Tickle 1.12%

I'm inclined to think that the "Rice Against the Machine" theory is correct, with the "bleeding finger brigade" being outgunned. I'd suggest that the Brian Dowling vote has come from the "BB Traditionalists" as he and Pete were vying in the midteens when I looked yesterday. Aisleyne seems to have had a late burst of support taking her clear of Nasty Nick and Kate Lawler (who both dropped back) and almost meeting Pete coming the other way. Of the rest, only Belo, Bass, Mikey H and The Tickle pulled more than 1%, though the shenanagins at the top end have clearly flattened out the rest of the percentages.

Bit surprised that Sophie, Samanda and maybe Glyn & Nadia didn't poll higher.

Good result for Aisleyne IMO - respectable position considering that I don't think there's much actual enthusiasm in these parts to see Ash returning to the BB house for anything other than perhaps some kind of cameo appearance. Or am I assuming too much?

Is there a "Rice against the machine" theory?

I shouldn't imagine any of the exBBers would want to go in for more than a week?
But a week of Aisleyne would be great.

Is there a "Rice against the machine" theory?

The phrase has been bouncing around "another place". And even though I was, like you, very glad to see Rachel win, I feel sure that there's been something other than just a case of 29% - nearly one third of voting Sun readers - supporting her. Yesterday she and Nikki were toe-to-toe around the 21% mark - and we know the multi-voting propensities of Nikki-fans - yet overnight Rachel shot up 8 points while Nikki nearly dropped below a fast rising Brian Dowling.

Oh, SOME would I think - nightmare ones mostly.

But a week of Aisleyne would be great.

Always great for us to see Ash on TV of course, but who has EVER benefitted from returning to the house?

The Sun's rather mealy-mouthed reading of the results with a particularly eccentric use of the word "scraping"

I don't think Rachel was "supposed" to win.

No surprise there, then.

When I voted, Rachel had less than 1% so something fishy clearly went on :-)
