That'll be the Neo Soul Act Award for which a certain Miss Winehouse is among the nominees. Hmmmmm. Could be interesting.

I see that one of the nominees in the Best TV Show/film category is "Adulthood" which starred a certain Adam Deacon - aka Space in Dead Set. If he's there he might be a bit wary of sitting too close to Aisleyne at dinner in case she wants another bite

If Amy wins the award, and she doesn't attend, will Aisleyne present the award to herself, to take on Amy's behalf?

No idea who Adele or Vula are, but Amy, Corrine and Duffy are all huge names, so it's quite an honour for Ash to be presenting the award.

Adele has had a No.1 this year and is also a friend of Amy's who was at her birthday party (the one she didn't attend). I can't say I've heard of Vula though. Should be a good night :-)

It would be even better for me to see Ash present an award to Amy.

I agree. Shocking news once again.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1086262/Music-awards-rocked...

This is little consolation, but it appears (see picture) that Aisleyne did get to present her award with Richard Blackwood. Hopefully she and the other guests escaped safely and aren't traumatised by the experience.

I'm glad Ash got her moment on stage, at any rate.

Hope she wasn't affected by the idiocy.

Luckily Ash didn't directly witness the stabbing last night, so although she was shaken by the incident, there was no need for her to be interviewed by the police, and she was able to leave the venue shortly after the event was abandoned.

Before all the turmoil, Ash announced Amy Winehouse as the winner of the "Neo Soul" award.
A clip of her annoucing this is included in the ITV London report that can be viewed in the link below

(ETA: Sunday's news video is on the front page at the moment, but from tomorrow you'll have to look in the archive)

That's good the last she wants is to be caught up in that. Crazy....why oh why couldn't it go ahead without hiccups. I bet it was over something stupid.

I'm glad Aisleyne wasn't anywhere near this when it kicked off, but its still a shocking incident and the lack of security must be a big issue. There can surely be no more UMAs unless the organisers and the venue sort out this mess.

On the subject of knife crime, The Observer had an interesting piece yesterday about a 16-year-old lad knifed to death in Shepherds Bush last year. One of the people they interviewed about him was a guy called Andy Gray who works for Youth Culture Television (YCTV) who Aisleyne is pictured bigging up on this site in a clip taken at the 2006 Urban Music Awards, ironically.

A report in Metro this morning reckons it was a broken glass rather than a knife. I suppose there's not a lot that can security can do to prevent a weapon like that

I rather get the feeling Sky Showbiz didn't quite know how to treat events at the UMAs. They seem to have left the hard news of the violence to the main news channel, and have not (so far) reported on the awards announcements.

They have limited themselves instead to a single video red-carpet interview - with a suitably "urban" Aisleyne! And their focus is initially on a certain ring on a certain finger - about which Ash is decidedly enigmatic and non-committal!

The sound isn't especially clear above the general hubbub, but she talks about her book, her road trip and her Screenwipe mascotship.

I think I did hear her say the ring was from somebody special?   Although I could hardly make out a word.

A lot of Ash in the background of this clip, at one point SH-REIKING in delight at meeting someone. Also a dash of Darnell for all you Darnell fans:

A mention here for the 'gorgeous Aisleyne' and Amy's special message. The whole thing sounds like an 'official' version of events which rather plays down the incident.

A nice picture of Ash at the 2006 MOBOs (up to date huh?) adorns page 5 of today's Daily Sport as part of a two-page story about Saturday night's incident, entitled BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR

No longer strictly true, they have also added video interviews with Michelle Heaton, Bianca Gascoigne and Brian Belo.

Even if you aren't especially interested in Mr B, the early part of his interview is worth watching to see a certain other BB graduate posing away in the background

Its conceivable that Ash knows one of the victims of the UMA incident:

Again, this report mentions a champagne flute, not a knife

I'm sure Ash appreciates a picture showing her two years younger. We would have preferred a more recent pic, preferably one taken at the venue. Obviously they exhausted their efforts on the headline.

A pic of Aisleyne's UMA outfit appears on p49 of this week's Closer magazine on their Style Watch page.

They are unaccountably unimpressed, as she gets the thumbsdown for what they describe as her "barmaid top", and they aren't keen on her make-up either.

She's in good company, though, alongside Paris Hilton.

On her other side is Michelle Heaton, and in HER case I have to say that I agree with the Style Watchers.
