Aisleyne will be appearing in the up-coming TV show Dead Set.  Also appearing will be a certain fashion line worn by more than one member of the cast.  Dead Set is made by Zeppotron and written by Charlie Brooker and is set in a fictional Big Brother house.

Not to mention swanning off to the US of A with the main man!

Oh, right, thanks prem - I thought it would start earlier than that as I saw that the DVD would be on sale from 3/11, and assumed that that would be after the final episode (spoilers and all that). Halloween figures though, I guess..

The website was due to go live at noon today, but it hasn't as yet - still showing countdown (at zero) and trailer.

Blimey!
Not only does she get to appear in the show, but she get's to dress some of the cast as well.

That's a bit of a coup.

Absolutely!

.....though some care will be needed in how this is used for marketing, for example

"UbA - designed by Aisleyne, worn by zombies! "

doesn't quite do it for me

Have you seen the "housemates" bios yet?

I feel strangely drawn to support Veronica, the feisty 28 year old blonde who has ambitions to be a glamour model, actress and TV presenter when she gets out of the house.

Wonder why that is.....?

Is this going to be on the Deja Vu Channel?

I find the whole thing about Dead Set extremely uncomfortable and eerie, that said each and everyone to their own. Then again I've never been a fan of horror. Fantasy to some it may be but to me it's just disturbing. Far too gory for my eyes. Obviously Ash and Charlie are mates so naturally she was bound to appear in it. I'd love to see Ash on mainstream TV doing something dignified within the sphere of presenting. Something away from reality TV/Big Brother altogether. Will it ever happen? Is there someone out there willing to give her a chance? Who knows?

A "cinema trailer" (aka Trailer 1) is now on the e4 website

There are brief glimpses of THREE former housemates. You have doubtless already guessed who one of them is.

But who might be the other two? Have a look here (subject to usual caution about gory content - and link is to HTML version of Dead Set website )

I think I may have spotted a fourth ex-hm?

If you look at Trailer 1 on the Deadset site (rather than the E4 one) you can pause it properly, and I think the girl in black/grey on the left might be Helen Adams?

There's quite a lot of new stuff on the Dead Set website.

Some more gruesome pics of zombie Davina.

Two more videos with more extended clips from episode 1, one of which shows Pippa's eviction in her UbA Nakita dress.

http://www.e4.com/video/XT4STLm05G0Kj0SB02P7eQ/play.e4

And an interview with Charlie Brooker, which includes a section about the participation of past housemates. He mentions 7 HMs, but curiously omits Aisleyne and Imogen, though they are shown in the accompanying picture.

The Times Online, dateline 25 October, (so this could well be in Saturday's paper version), has an EXTREMELY interesting report about Dead Set.

It was clearly compiled during the shooting, and includes some startling (though not altogether surprising ) revelations about Aisleyne's fate.

Charlie has some of his usual kind words for Ash and Brian Belo, and also says who "Veronica" was inspired by (and it's NOT Aisleyne) .

I don't want to spoil it any further, link here:

The Times newspaper also has this report, along with a picture of Aisleyne with the other housemates who are appearing.

There was a big double page spread about Dead Set in the Scotsman today, with an interview with Charlie.

No mention of Ash though.

Here's a turn-up for the books! A collector's item! A phenomenon

Our friends at HolyMoly have reviewed Dead Set, and are generally very enthusiastic about it.

They are unhappy with some of the actors' performance, but hand out acting bouquets to Jaime Winstone, and are particularly complimentary about the acting of Davina McCall ....

.... and a certain ex-housemate by the name of Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace!!

That report makes me want to see it even more.

The picture of Davina devouring the remains of whomever, almost makes me want to throw up, every time I look at it, so kudos to her for being able to do it. Not sure I could.

That was a bit of a swizz. We never saw what happened to Ash and the other ex-housemates.

I presume we see more of her in a subsequent episode?
But i would have liked to have seen the zombification of Aisleyne.

Very well written and performed drama based on Episode 1. Jamie Winstone is very convincing as the heroine. No expense spared on the gore and special effects! I thought I even caught one of the other (fictitious) housemates wearing Ash's MOBOs dress, but I could have been mistaken...

A review of the programme on the Holy Moly site:

http://www.holymoly.com/page/TV/0,,12643~1431000,00.html

Particularly liked this bit:

"When ex-Big Brother contestant Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace and Davina McCall act the professionals out of the park, you really need to ask some serious questions."

Great performance by Aisleyne! I'm not much of a horror fan but this looks a very interesting story - and since there's more Ais action to come I'm defo staying tuned to the end.

Fingers crossed this is the start of a glittering career for her.

Well Ash's 'Asp' dress got plenty of airtime tonight.
Just a pity Ash wasnae in it.

That notwithstanding, I really enjoyed this episode.
Bit slower paced, more 'Charlie' humour, very realistic dialogue.

Can't wait for more Aisleyne though.

Yes I think I saw ZomBrooker in that sequence, empty.

And we might need to be as observant to spot ZombAsh and ZomBrian (plus another ex-HM who wasn't at the "reunion" in ep1), if I read the hint from Charlie in this interview correctly

I suppose the idea is that the ex-housemates are still roaming the BB complex somewhere?

Well Brian got a good shot.

I'd be glad if zombie Ash met a similar fate.
In the nicest possible way, of course.

It was played a bit more for laughs in that episode.
Just hope Ash has a pivotal role in the conclusion.

Yeah, it was quite touching when Kylie and Nakita were reunited near the end there.

I suppose Charlie's moral was that TV turns us all into zombies.
Quite liderally.

Ok, I haven't got round to watching it yet and, from what I hear, it's one of those endings which are the reason I really hate Horror movies so I probably won't bother watching the whole thing.

I would like to see the bits where Ash appears, though. Can anybody give me a guide to look for her in my fast-forwarding?

Thanks

Well you see her a few times as herself in the first episode, then she doesn't appear again until the second half of the fifth episode, when zombie-Ash appears.

However, if you want to try to spot Saskia you might have to watch the whole thing cos nobody has positively identified her yet.
Some think she is the one right at the end watching the TV in the mall, but my theory is that she was the zombie in episode four who attacked the girl (Alex) on the canal/river lock.

It's all available for watchification here anyway.

I really liked Dead Set. Aisleyne was a good zombie.
Although I wish we could have seen more of Aisleyne in the Dead Set.
I was dissapointed in the ending though. I thaught perhaps one or two might get away at least.
Still i enjoyed it. I thaught it was a really good mini series.

Glad to be back ofni. Ash was perfect as herself and as a zombie. What I was most proud of as a fan of hers was her involvement in such a fantastic programme. It could have been so much longer and some bits could have been done differently. I only think that because I was so captivated by it. Patrick was my favourite character. Joplin should have won.

Dead Set is being repeated on e4 next week with episode 1 on Monday at 11pm, episodes 2/3 on Wednesday and episodes 4/5 on Friday. There are also latenight repeats, which seem to interlace with the nightshift repeats of Screenwipe on BBC4.

So plenty for insomniac Chaisleyne fans to while away the sleepless hours next week then.

I've just acquired the DVD as a birthday present. 58 minutes of extras on it, although Aisleyne doesn't feature. You do get to see a bit of Eugene Sully (BB6) discussing how to pretend to be dead with your innards being chomped on by zombified Davina McCall, plus lots of Davina in make-up and doing her scenes. Some deleted scenes are included, plus interview with Charlie Brooker and behind the scenes with the amazing special effects team. They make plaster casts of actors faces and stuff....creepy.

To coincide with CBB6, I see that "Dead Set" is getting a showing on Channel 4 in three episodes next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

When she gets back from Jamaica, I wonder which CBB6 housemates Ash would like to sink her teeth into?

has anyone bought the dvd ? is there any ash extras on it ?

k

I've requested it for Christmas, so I hope so.

I had Dead Set for Christmas (good old Santa). No Ash extras, but worth having to see it all the way through without breaks. Those housemate characters are so good. They should be used again. Dead Set 2 - Big Brother before the zombies came.

I wonder what audience size the first episode of Dead Set will get tonight? Should be quite high, as it comes immediately after tonight's live CBB6, with nominations etc.

Correction:

Apparently the live nominations are in the second CBB6 at 11.05pm, which I'd guess should increase the audience figures for Dead Set, doncha think?

Did anyone else notice that 'Space' had miraculously risen from the dead last night and turned up in Casualty? Not a mark on him, either.

Ditto Pippa in TONIGHT's Casualty!

So when is it Aisleyne's turn then?

That's interesting, innit?

Wonder if that's why Mr Brooker is red-carpeting it this evening at the RTS Awards?

Sadly, Dead Set didn't win, but at least the nominations clip they showed did feature "Nakita" from Aisleyne's fashion range.

Congrats anyway to Charlie and Co for being nominated.

I was thinking about the impact of Dead Set and other parodies of Big Brother on viewers. Has it made people more cynical of Big Brother? It certainly made a mockery of the stereotypical wannabee housemate of recent years. And will you ever see eviction night in the same way again? I recall seeing a clip of Aisleyne in the BBLB studio and being concerned for her safety. It seemed so wrong seeing the housemates on Dead Set going into the camera runs and even leaving the complex, but I understand that it's happened in BB10 too. They've even had zombies in the house. You would think Charlie had wrote the script for BB10.

It's getting to be a Hallowe'en TV tradition, innit, like they always show The Sound of Music at Christmas.

As an old traditionalist, I welcome the repeat of Dead Set for those who haven't seen it and wish to be scared on Halloween.
