from newsnow......As Big Brother 2007 draws to a close, former housemates Pete Bennett and Nadia Almada have been talking about the downside of life after the series

Nadia won the reality show in 2004, and bagged a recording contract and magazine deals - but she soon descended into depression within a year.

She now keeps a low profile, and advises housemates to not believe all of the hype. "You really need to have the right people around you - get your family, get your friends," she said.

"Even if you think you're above them in a way because you have all of this newly-found worship, I think you need to sort of listen to them and not cut yourself from the real world."

Likewise, last year's winner Pete has seen work dry up following the Celebrity Big Brother race row in January.

He said: "A few jobs that had come in were cancelled because they didn't want to have anything to do with Big Brother anymore. So I went from loving it, to not wanting to be involved in it anymore.

Thanks! Shame to hear that Pete lost some work due to that race row.

Here's the original article...

Big Brother is a wierd show in the sense that the winner of the show is rarely the most successful. Winning Big Brother doesn't seem to have brought Nadia and Pete lasting happiness. They probably found it difficult to adjust when their 15 minutes of fame were elapsed.
